Position: Sr. Material Handler/ Inventory Management Specialist
Location: Baytown TX 77521
Duration: 3 Months (Potential to Convert)
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Monday Friday from 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM

Summary:

The Sr. Material Handler/ Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for managing inventory material handling and replenishment activities at a customer site. This role ensures efficient movement of materials accurate inventory tracking and strong customer interaction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented customer-focused and experienced in warehouse or inventory operations within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inventory replenishment stock rotation cycle counts order entry returns and backorder processing using RF scanners and mobile applications.
  • Receive inspect scan and store incoming shipments while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory levels proactively and report discrepancies or shortages.
  • Interact with customers via email and phone to resolve queries and provide support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and supervisors to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain organization and safety standards ensuring compliance with PPE and site guidelines.
  • Support material movement across multiple buildings within the same campus.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 3 years of experience in warehouse inventory control retail stocking or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience using RF handheld scanners or mobile inventory systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Work performed at a customer manufacturing/industrial site.
  • Exposure to chemical-based environments; adherence to PPE requirements (lab coats masks steel-toe shoes etc.).
  • Frequent standing walking and manual material handling.
  • Ability to lift 30 40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Use of equipment such as pushcarts and forklifts (moving up to 100 lbs).
  • May require overtime as needed.
