We are seeking a Shop Dispatcher to support daily shop operations and equipment logistics within a heavy civil construction environment. This is a detail-oriented hands-on role responsible for coordinating schedules managing equipment movement and ensuring smooth communication between shop field and operations teams.
This position plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency minimizing downtime and supporting overall project execution through effective scheduling and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage daily and weekly shop production schedules to ensure timely completion of work
Plan and schedule equipment moves including labor trucks and lifting requirements
Obtain required permits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Communicate scheduling updates with:
Internal teams
Drivers
Project Managers
Vendors
Monitor job progress and adjust schedules based on delays or changing priorities
Coordinate with shop leadership on equipment availability utilization and maintenance planning
Maintain accurate records of:
Schedules
Permits
Job status updates
Identify and resolve logistical or scheduling conflicts proactively
Ensure all scheduled work complies with safety and operational standards
Provide regular updates on scheduling performance and resource allocation
OR supervisory/lead role in a shop or construction environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of:
Shop equipment and operations
Safety regulations and compliance standards
Problem-solving mindset with ability to handle schedule changes and breakdowns
Experience with scheduling or construction software (HCSS is a plus)
OSHA 30 is a plus
Valid drivers license
Compensation & Details
Base Salary: $65000 $70000
Bonus: 5% based on individual and company performance
Location: Chagrin Falls OH (On-site role)
