Teacher of Food Technology
Job Summary
New Forest School is looking for a creative practitioner to lead the development of Food Technology and provide our students with exceptional outcomes.
As a member of the Food Technology department based at our Totton site youll inspire support and guide our SEN students through this crucial subject from Year 7 to Year 11.
There is the possibility of Head of Subject for the right candidate with responsibilities to drive the development of an exciting curriculum from KS3 to KS4 including responsibility for outcomes across the department and leading up a team across our KS3/4 sites. You will lead by example supporting and empowering your departments teachers staff and students to achieve to the best of their ability.
The successful candidate will:
Plan and deliver lessons whilst following the national curriculum.
Have a desire to work in an SEN setting.
Be approachable flexible and adaptable with a desire to make a difference in our students lives.
Have the capability for supporting children with social and emotional behavioural needs within an educational environment.
Possess effective communication and relationship building skills.
Be passionate about providing quality education care and support to young people.
To intervene physically with our students when required using Team Teach trained techniques when de-escalation strategies have failed (full training will be provided).
Demonstrate analytical thinking to improve the quality of pupils learning.
Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom engage and motivate pupils.
Qualifications and requirements:
Based in the UK and do not require sponsorship.
QTS or equivalent required.
Proven teaching experience.
Desire to work in an SEN setting.
Effective communication skills and build good relationships.
Flexible and adaptable.
Full UK driving licence desirable.
