About the Role
As a Department Liaison Officer you will play an important role in supporting the relationship between the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and portfolio Ministers offices.
You will provide timely advice coordination and high-level administrative support to help facilitate the effective operation of ministerial business. This includes supporting the flow of correspondence briefings parliamentary material speeches House folder notes and other key documents. You will work closely with ministerial staff senior executives and teams across DPIRD to ensure advice and written material is accurate timely and aligned with government and departmental priorities.
We are looking for an individual who can:
- Provide a reliable source of knowledge and advice on DPIRD operations portfolio issues and departmental processes.
- Coordinate requests for correspondence briefing material media releases speeches and parliamentary briefs.
- Quality check briefs correspondence reports and responses to parliamentary questions.
- Liaise with staff across DPIRD to support the delivery of clear timely and high-quality policy advice.
- Support the Ministers involvement in meetings events and visits by coordinating written material and advice.
- Build strong working relationships across ministerial offices senior executives government agencies and external stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities sensitive matters and urgent deadlines in a complex public sector environment.
About You
To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of machinery of government ministerial correspondence briefing processes parliamentary material and speeches.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear accurate and persuasive advice.
- Sound judgement discretion and the ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
- Strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to work effectively with ministerial staff senior executives and internal teams.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure manage competing priorities and respond quickly to emerging issues.
- A practical understanding of DPIRDs functions objectives and operating environment.
