What Youll Be Doing:

Reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for the administration of the Quality Control (QC) program. Supervises the personnel that perform the QC inspections and monitors the progress of inspections correlates required inspection reports and keeps the Project Manager informed of any problem areas. Responsible for the maintenance of the Technical Library.

  • Develop implement monitor and modify quality/inspections management processes and procedures intended to enable the timely effective and cost-effective completion of all departmental projects.
  • Establish the QA policies and procedures needed to assess the overall quality of work.
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Manual.
  • Review Ship Inactivation Plans and provide detailed feedback to the Project Manager and Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
  • Prepare Ship Inactivation Brief. Deliver brief and train Ships Force on the Inactivation process.
  • Execute necessary cost control procedures designed to properly estimate execute and account for all tasks performed. Submit required budget and financial reports to Project Manager for review.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all individuals and organizations charged with the accomplishment of those tasks required to schedule and complete all inspections as required by the contract.
  • Maintain the Remote Monitoring Station (RMS) and INACTIVESHIPS Events System (ISES) alarm systems. Ensure alarm system is always operational.
  • Maintain the highest achievable physical security of all assigned facilities and vessels.
  • Enforce the detailed control management and administration of classified material.
  • Provide the leadership and management necessary to achieve the highest levels of performance in the following areas: inspections / quality assurance and management.
  • Provide timely accurate complete correspondence reports and supporting documentation to the Project Manager corporate leadership and COR.
  • Brief the Project Manager a minimum of each week on the status of all ongoing and planned projects.
  • Debrief completed projects and develop improvement plans from lessons learned.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the COR in the execution of all contract provisions for Inactive Ships and its detachments.
  • Engage all levels within the organization in the process of identifying implementing and enforcing newer and better ways to exceed customer expectations in all undertakings. Ask questions and actively listen in an effort to ensure a complete understanding of employee ideas and concerns.
  • Invite accept consider and act on constructive criticism that will improve quality and efficiency.
  • Professionally represent the company in all dealings with the customer suppliers sub-contractors and other government agencies.
  • Provide clear firm and consistent leadership while fostering a team culture built on the companys core values of individual accountability growth safety respect integrity and commitment.
  • Hire indoctrinate train and promote only the most qualified individuals. Ensure all individuals are afforded an equal opportunity in employment and advancement.

  • Monitor performance of contracted Security Agency.
  • Ensure performance feedback mentoring and coaching is practiced at all levels.
  • Must be able to work effectively with co-workers in a professional manner at all times
  • Travel as necessary (including out of country) to conduct company business or to conduct ships force inactivation briefings.
  • Other work as assigned and which the employee is qualified and able to perform in support of other trades or evolutions required for safe operation of the site and proper execution of contractual requirements.

What Youll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A four-year college degree with at least three (3) years of managerial experience in quality inspection of ship maintenance-related experience or 10 years of quality ship maintenance-related experience with at least five (5) years of which involved managerial responsibilities.
  • Ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • An understanding of security handling of Classified material environmental and health monitoring and coordination requirements.
