The Project Accountant role provides financial oversight and analysis of project and studio performance including WIP billings costs profitability forecasting and variance analysis. You will support project setup and administration ensuring accurate cost and revenue allocation compliant workflows and alignment with internal financial systems and processes.
You will contribute to the following:
- Preparing timely and accurate client invoices in line with agreed project terms and governance requirements
- Processing subconsultant contractor and supplier invoices with appropriate supporting documentation
- Supporting consistent and compliant billing practices across studios
- Monitoring project financial health identifying underperforming projects and supporting escalation and corrective action planning with Studio leadership
- Contributing to regular financial reporting and forecasting to support decisionmaking by Studio Directors Studio Managers and Group Finance
- Supporting accounts receivable management including collection forecasting and assisting with timely cash collection
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial standards IMS processes timesheet requirements company policies and organisational values
About You
If you have demonstrated experience in project-based finance and administration wed like to hear from you!
The successful candidate will have 3 5 years experience in bookkeeping project invoicing and accounts administration ideally in professional services firms.
Although experience in a design firm is not essential demonstrated experience in landscape architecture architecture urban design engineering or construction will be highly regarded.

- Strong capability across project invoicing WIP management forecasting and accounts receivable processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyse financial data and communicate insights clearly to nonfinance stakeholders
- Highly organised detailoriented and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Confident professional communicator with the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and studios
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial and project management systems
- Proactive solutionsfocused mindset with a strong alignment to purpose values and continuous improvement
