Sr. SQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design administration and optimization of enterprise database systems
• Manage large-scale datasets ensuring high performance availability and scalability
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and implement performance tuning strategies
• Partner with engineering DevOps and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions
• Oversee database architecture including indexing partitioning and data lifecycle management
• Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Drive automation of database operations using scripting and tooling
• Support audits compliance needs and data governance initiatives
• Manage vendors and third-party database technologies as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field
• 10 years of database administration experience including 8 years with SQL Server
• Strong PostgreSQL administration and optimization experience
• Proven success working with very large datasets (billions of records)
• Expertise in performance tuning query optimization and database internals
• Experience with high-availability solutions (e.g. Always On replication log shipping)
• Proficiency in scripting ( T-SQL PowerShell Python or Bash)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure AWS RDS or Aurora
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience in regulated industries and relevant certifications are a plus
