We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. In this role you will support the Finance and Operations teams by assisting with cost accounting activities financial analysis and reporting for our manufacturing operations. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world cost accounting processes in a fast-paced technology-driven environment and is ideal for a motivated student seeking practical finance and accounting experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The Cost Accountant Intern will assist with a variety of cost accounting and financial analysis activities including but not limited to:
- Support preparation and analysis of manufacturing costs including material labor and overhead
- Assist with month-end close activities such as cost accruals journal entries and reconciliations
- Help analyze production variances (standard vs. actual costs) and summarize key drivers
- Participate in inventory accounting processes including cycle counts and inventory valuation analysis
- Assist in maintaining cost data within ERP systems and ensuring data accuracy
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for Finance and Operations leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations Supply Chain Engineering) to understand cost drivers and manufacturing processes
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to cost tracking reporting or internal controls
Education & Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related field
Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
- Basic understanding of accounting principles; familiarity with cost accounting concepts preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables formulas data analysis)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong desire to learn ask questions and contribute in a team-oriented setting

- Internship Duration: 10 14 weeks.

Working Conditions
- This role will be based on-site in Santa Clara CA.
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
- Use of hands and fingers for typing writing and handling documents.
- Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
