Plains is seeking a Hydraulics Engineer to join our team in Houston this role youll build and maintain hydraulic simulation models for Plains pipeline assets and collaborate closely with Operations Engineering and Commercial teams to deliver highquality analysis and recommendations that support safe reliable operations.

Responsibilities
- Develop update and maintain hydraulic simulation models using Synergi Pipeline Simulator
- Validate and ensure proper storage and configuration of pipeline models
- Run and analyze simulation models to provide recommendations
- Analyze transient scenarios and develop safe operating limits for pipeline systems
- Write and update surge studies based on transient analysis results
- Partner with Operations to determine safe and effective solutions for overpressure concerns
- Provide hydraulics recommendations to Engineering and Commercial teams in support of business opportunities
- Troubleshoot operational issues on pipeline systems and support technical services in developing solutions
- Identify and evaluate energysaving opportunities and optimization strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- 13 years engineering experience
- Experience with Synergi Pipeline Simulator pipeline engineering operations support or pumps/valves/surge mitigation systems preferred
- Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple projects with short turnaround times
- Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to guide and support implementation of systems across a broad organization
- Ability to travel up to 10% to field locations and Operations Control in Midland Texas
- Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the companys Drug & Alcohol Policy including preemployment testing
- Valid state drivers license and driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers
