QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a Post Secondary Degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or other related areas or five years experience in Social Work Counseling Psychology or other related areas; good oral and written communication skills; possess the necessary literacy and/or mathematics skills to fulfill the performance responsibilities of the job. Must be able to enter and retrieve data using computers systems systems applications and other office equipment.

PRIMARY JOB GOAL:
To insure the effective implementation of the Simpson County Family Resource Centers (SCFRC) work plan including all mandated core components and what optional components as deemed needed by the SCFRC Advisory Council.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of providing liaison services between the schools and the community; knowledge of record-keeping techniques and basic accounting; ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; ability to provide clearly both written and oral instructions and to perform all required tasks as assigned; ability to develop effective working relationships with the entire school community; ability to move about and travel to various locations in one day; ability to prioritize and schedule work assignments and to meet schedules and time lines; ability to perform both day and evening work; ability to maintain current knowledge of program rules regulations requirements and restrictions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Promotes harmony and good will with the public in a manner that merits their respect and serves as an advocate of children and families.
-Is responsible for case management with individual families to address those personal social or emotional needs related to their educational developmental and social progress.
-Is responsible for case management with parents as an integral part of the task of helping students to increase the parents understanding to increase their constructive participation in addressing the childs needs and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available.
-Consults and collaborates with children families teachers service providers and the community in gathering and giving information on cases and in establishing and planning for respective roles in addressing family issues.
-Supervises the referral of students to and serves as a liaison with such outside agencies as the Cabinet for Human Resources Juvenile Court and other service providers.
-Maintains direct contacts and close working relationships with the community/regional public and private service providers.
-Makes school/home visits for the purpose of collecting and assessing data.
-Serves as a liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary.
-Assists students directly toward adjustment to school.
-Keeps accurate and sufficient records of cases for use by the Family Resource Center (FRC) and outside agencies when appropriate.
-Abides by all confidentiality regulations.
-Demonstrates positive communication skills both oral and written.
-Works closely with the SCFRC Advisory Council in planning the work plan of the FRC.
-Demonstrates the ability to work as team leader to effectively implement the work plan of the SCFRC.
-Supervises the FRC personnel and the day-to-day operation of the center.
-Works closely with the Director of Pupil Personnel in preparing all reports budgets and grants administered through the FRC.
-Makes recommendations for facility location alterations repairs and improvements.
-Supervises property inventories.
-Use technology
-Plans and supervises emergency preparedness of center.
-Supervises and evaluates all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the centers operation.
-In collaboration with the Chairperson of the SCFRC Advisory Council conducts periodic Advisory Council meetings and keeps members informed of regulations policies changes and new programs.
-Is responsible for recruitment selection assignment training and evaluation of personnel being considered for placement to the center including volunteers.
-Assigns duties to all staff of center including volunteers.
-Makes periodic assessments of the needs of the community in order to develop effective plans for meeting those needs.
-Assumes responsibility for all official center correspondence and news releases.
-Performs related duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel and the Superintendent.
