Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required

5 years experience working with business community and parent volunteers

Strong communication skills: public speaking meeting facilitation written communication presentations must be comfortable speaking in front of large audiences

Knowledge of school district organization is desirable. Classroom or counseling experience a plus.

Event planning and analysis experience

Working knowledge of Canva Constant Contact SharePoint and district technology systems.

Initiative and good judgement in working with fellow employees and community volunteers

Ability to complete multiple projects independently with tight deadlines

Ability to work with confidential material and handle frequent interruptions

Position requires high levels of community and campus interaction

Position requires attendance at frequent after-hours events and meetings

Primary Purpose:

This position will lead Katy ISD KEYS Mentoring Program by developing a comprehensive plan to recruit new mentors train and support existing mentors and support campus KEYS liaisons. Position will also serve as VIPS Coordinator to liaise with district-level volunteer leaders providing coordination and leadership for their activities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Lead all aspects of KEYS Mentoring program including but not limited to:
  • Develop and execute annual action plan ensuring program growth and increased retention of existing mentors. Report results to Executive Director annually with recommendations for improved effectiveness impact and efficiency. Track program results.
  • Build and maintain strong community partnerships to actively recruit and sustain a high-quality mentor pipeline.
  • Plan host and lead all KEYS events report results to Executive Director.
  • Train and support campus KEYS liaisons and KEYS mentors
  • Monitor campus implementation of the KEYS program and follow up with liaison throughout the year to ensure timely mentor placement and ongoing support.
  • Continually research and apply best practices in youth mentoring to strengthen program design mentor training and overall program effectiveness.
  • Collect analyze and report meeting/event metrics throughout the year.
  • Help community organizations and individual volunteers strategize regarding the best placement of available human and financial resources. Write and design messaging specific to KEYS Mentoring.
  • Collaborate with district technology staff to design implement and manage the KEYS online management system ensuring accurate data tracking user adoption and system effectiveness.
  • Ensure KEYS program operates in compliance with all district policies.
  1. Lead all aspects of district-level Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) programs
    1. Lead district-level volunteer leaders in developing annual action plans and support their work throughout the school year.
    2. Lead all aspects of planning and staging of annual VIPS celebration.
    3. Collaborate with volunteer leaders to prepare all resources and materials for district-level volunteer meetings.
    4. Attend district-level volunteer parent group meetings.
  2. Speak at Partners in Education and KEYS campus events.
  3. Support all Partners in Education and Katy ISD Education Foundation activities and events as requested by the Executive Director.
  4. Liaise with Katy ISD administrative departments and campuses as needed.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Articulate districts mission vision values to all engaged in Foundation and Partners in Education programs.
  2. Represent Katy ISD and Partners in Education at community and district events.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service for all parties engaged in Partners in Education programs.
  4. Position requires frequent interaction with the public Katy ISD campuses and administrative deprtments.
  5. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director of Community Partnerships.

Working Conditions:

Work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Inter-district travel required.
