Job Summary

General Responsibilities:

The Closing Specialist I position is responsible for preparing all loan-closing documents and ensuring accuracy to have a fully compliant mortgage.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Pre-Closing review of all documents in file including title homeowners insurance appraisal condo documentation tax certs trust documents payoffs and disclosures
  • Complete a preclosing checklist to ensure file is complete and compliant
  • Coordinate scheduled signing with partners loan officers settlement agents and/or title companies
  • Prepare all closing documents required to close mortgage loans ensuring documentation is complete and accurate; follow up with any discrepancies.
  • Audit closing documents and file based on audit procedures.
  • Prepare and explain closing requirements to settlement agent as needed.
  • Perform client settlement agent processor or client relations follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving documents to loan advisors settlement agents and wholesale partners as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of all products and investor requirements to ensure quality closing packages and salability to the Investor
  • Prepare and complete loan documents ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete and coordinating the closing process.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines with basic or limited decision-making authority.
  • Work directly with title companies partners and other third parties to coordinate closings.

 

 


Qualifications :

 

  • Minimum of 2 years as a Closer or Funder preferred
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • Organizing and coordinating skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain files and records
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications specifically Internet Explorer Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
  • Good customer service skills and reliability
  • Individuals must be extremely detailed oriented and work well under pressure meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines
  • Must always demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Team player who shows a positive attitude and collaborative skills
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and strong collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrates reliability and punctuality.

  • Target base salary range is 55-65K which is based on various factors including skills and work addition to base salary this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program via monthly production bonus that is based on individual performance.
