Asst. Boys Basketball Coach

Harrison School District is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 7-12 teaching/coaching position. The available boys basketball coaching positions range from 7th to 12th grade. A second sport would be determined. Available teaching positions include Drivers Education Health Social Studies and Math.

Position Focus & Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a student-centered professional who will fulfill the following Job Requirements:

• Instructional Leadership & Curriculum: Create and deliver specialized instruction motivating students to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation per each pupils ability; and demonstrate experience in examining interpreting and using student assessment data.

• Classroom Environment & Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; and ensure strong student engagement.

• Communication & Collaboration: Formulate positive relationships with parents students and other staff members; and demonstrate effective communication within the school community.

• Technology & Operations: Effectively use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital resources (e.g. Canvas Google Classroom); and develop and maintain required paperwork.

Minimum Qualifications & Desired Attributes: Harrison School District is seeking an individual who meets the following criteria:

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification.

• Status: Must possess Arkansas Qualified Teacher (HQT) status.

• Certifications: CDL or the ability to obtain one.

• Professional Background: Previous experience required; candidates should have a strong background in coaching preferably at the high school or collegiate level.

• Skills: Knowledge of effective instruction and disaggregation of data and display excellent people skills.

• Technology: Willingness to attain or possess Google Level One Certification.
