Description

The Director Shared Services Automation & AI leads the expansion of Mayo Clinics automation and AI program into Finance departments. This leader stands up and scales a net-new delivery team establishes a hybrid engagement model and operationalizes the phased roadmap approved by Finance leadership. The role is accountable for building credibility with Finance stakeholders delivering early value and maturing the pillar into a sustained operating capability. Success in this role requires fluency in the broader AI landscape (foundation models agentic frameworks and enterprise AI platforms) and a strong command of integration and interoperability across Finance source systems AI services and enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operationalize the hybrid engagement model with Finance departments balancing centralized delivery hub-and-spoke collaboration and advisory-only engagements.
  • Lead intake prioritization and portfolio governance for Finance automation and AI initiatives in partnership with Finance leadership.
  • Deliver measurable value through ROI-backed initiatives using standardized rate cards value levers and executive-ready reporting.
  • Represent the pillar in Finance governance forums executive reviews and strategic planning cycles.
  • Champion UiPath and AI tooling adoption across Finance coordinating with enterprise architecture security and vendor partners.
  • Develop coach and retain a diverse team aligned to Mayo Clinics values and talent philosophy.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree with 10 years experience which includes at least 7 years in general leadership required. Masters degree preferred. Broad expertise in healthcare management healthcare operations change management and systems preferred.

Possesses and applies knowledge of healthcare clinical and administrative systems and processes to achieve organizational priorities. Has solid knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook. Possess ability to apply broad knowledge to new circumstances to add value and perspective. Exhibits a customer-service orientation; anticipates understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Working knowledge of large revenue cycle systems preferred and medical record systems. Ability to establish a productive team-based work environment and collaborate effectively across multiple sites and functions. Demonstrated communication and presentation skills. Ability to lead or direct multiple complex projects and activities in an ambiguous environment. Participates in establishing an environment that promotes initiative creativity and a high level of productivity. Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree in business finance information system or related field.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in technology finance operations or transformation leadership with at least 5 years in a director-level or equivalent leadership role.
  • Proven track record building or scaling automation AI or transformation programs with measurable ROI.
  • Experience in driving integration and interoperability across source systems automation tooling AI services and enterprise data platforms; partner with enterprise architecture integration and data governance teams to ensure solutions are interoperable standards-aligned and built on reusable integration patterns.
  • Extensive experience with FHIR APIs.
  • Strong financial acumen including business case development value realization and portfolio governance.
  • Healthcare academic medical center or large non-profit finance experience.
  • Experience standing up new teams or programs within a larger enterprise program.

Authorization to work and remain in the United States without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorships now or in the future (for example be a U.S. Citizen national or permanent resident refugee or asylee). Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
