Overall Purpose of the Job
Responsible for Expros engineering activities within a designated Engineering business area. Undertake general Engineering tasks as directed by Supervisor / Manager to enable the progress and completion of related projects.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
analyze and optimize mechanical systems and components using CAD Software.
the required Engineering documentation then check for compliance with industry standards and Expros policies and procedures.
Engineering documents into PDM system and configure as required
concept designs through sketches and 3D model files. Create new assembly configurations and product variants.
load case diagrams and load case registers for input to finite element analysis activities.
calculations for design verification (applying engineering theory / ability to work from first principles and in compliance with internal procedures client requirements and industry standards).
Engineering component and assembly drawings.
research to evaluate materials components and manufacturing processes.
participate in Engineering meetings with internal and external parties and lead specific design reviews
information to Engineering databases and proficient in the use of technical software packages
with other technical departments on work produced to ensure that any calculations and analysis is fit for purpose
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
- 5 years work experience preferably oilfield.
- Proficient in use of technical software packages (e.g. Inventor Solid Works).
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. Ansys Abacus) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
