Summary

The Alumni and Development Intern will report directly to the Senior Associate Director of Alumni Engagement and is responsible for assisting with various administrative projects for the Alumni & Development Office. This position will work approximately 24 hours a week over approximately eight weeks. Projects might include data clean-up prospect research and organization project organization digitizing files and other duties as assigned. The intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of the work of the Development Office at an independent school.


Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Senior Associate Director of Alumni Engagement to work on various projects throughout the summer. These projects may include data clean-up prospect research and organization project organization digitizing files and other duties as assigned. The duties will support various teams within the Office of Alumni and Development.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Research and Prospect Management.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in progress or recently completed required.
  • Willingness to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct and synthesize research findings accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey research results and suggestions.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using databases and other tools with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Able to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people including supervisors peers and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior to ensure the confidentiality and security of donor information.
  • Able to demonstrate dedication to the mission of the Development Office at an independent school.

Work Environment Characteristics and Physical Demand

  • Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work. Must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time go up and down flights of steps as well as stoop kneel crouch and lift.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets fax machines etc.
  • Must be capable of using visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to talk hear walk use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to work evenings weekends and holidays in conjunction with School calendar and events.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to see with normal parameters.
  • Operate in a professional work environment.
  • This is an in-person role
