About Mulilo

Since its establishment in 2008 Mulilo has grown into one of South Africas leading Independent Power Producers (IPP). Mulilo is majority owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) with Norfund holding an additional investment through the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund.

Mulilo develops constructs and operates utility scale wind solar PV and battery energy storage projects across South Africa. The company currently operates 450 MW of wind and solar capacity with a further 765 MW under construction. A portfolio exceeding 2 GW is advancing toward financial close while the long term development pipeline exceeds 30 GW.

Mulilo has concluded power purchase agreements under the South African governments Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) as well as private offtake agreements with several large corporate energy users.

About this role

The Senior Manager: Facilities & Communications is a senior dual-mandate role that sits at the operational and reputational heart of Mulilos Cape Town office. Reporting to the COO the successful candidate will ensure the office environment is safe compliant and efficiently run while also leading the companys internal communications and external public relations function. This role is best suited to a seasoned professional who combines operational rigour with strong communication skills a genuine commitment to Mulilos mission and an unwavering standard of excellence someone who not only delivers high-quality outcomes but proactively identifies where standards fall short and drives improvement.

Duties and responsibilities


Facilities Office Management


  • Manage all aspects of the Cape Town office environment including space planning maintenance security access control catering and hospitality services to ensure a productive and professional workplace.
  • Hold full accountability for the offices Health Safety Social & Environmental (HSSE) compliance including adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and all applicable regulations covering risk assessments incident reporting emergency plans and safety inductions.
  • Source appoint and performance-manage external service providers and contractors ensuring value for money contractual compliance and service excellence.
  • Own the facilities budget; monitor expenditure against plan report variances and manage any capital projects including office refurbishments or infrastructure upgrades.

Events Management


  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of major company events including leadership conferences investor days all-staff gatherings and client engagements from brief through to post-event review.
  • Manage event budgets and supplier relationships; ensure high-quality delivery aligned with Mulilos brand and strategic objectives.


Communications


  • Develop and execute an internal communications strategy that keeps employees informed engaged and aligned with Mulilos mission values and business priorities.
  • Manage all internal channels intranet newsletters all-staff announcements and partner with HR and the Executive Leadership Team to craft communications around organisational milestones change initiatives and culture programmes.
  • Work with the Corporate Affairs team on external communications and public relations ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with Mulilos brand and strategic objectives.

Required qualifications and experience

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Communications Facilities Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years progressive experience across facilities management and/or corporate communications with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrable HSSE compliance experience in a corporate environment with working knowledge of OHSA.
  • Proven track record in planning and delivering corporate events managing internal communications and executing public relations programmes.
  • Strong contractor and vendor management stakeholder engagement and budget accountability experience.

Advantageous:

  • Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Facilities Management Communications or HSSE.
  • Experience in the renewable energy infrastructure or related sector.
