About our client
Our client is a luxury adventure travel company operating exclusive expeditions from Cape Town. Theyre looking for a Technical Product & Operations Manager to support their Head of Technology across a broad portfolio of internal systems digital products infrastructure data security and operational technology projects. Youll assist with product ownership project coordination technical administration IT support systems documentation vendor management infrastructure oversight analytics and day-to-day technology operations. The ideal candidate understands technical concepts translates business needs into clear requirements keeps projects moving manages detail follows up consistently and helps turn technology work into delivered business outcomes.

What the job involves

  • Assisting with user access permissions onboarding offboarding and licence tracking
  • Maintaining system documentation admin notes technical registers and internal process guides
  • Tracking renewals billing contracts domains certificates SaaS subscriptions and vendor accounts
  • Keeping internal tools platforms and technology records organised and up to date
  • Coordinating support requests from internal teams and following issues through to resolution
  • Helping improve internal technology processes policies documentation and operating standards
  • Supporting cloud hosting backend services frontend hosting databases and core data storage
  • Managing identity user access and licence administration
  • Overseeing DNS domains certificates web security and traffic management
  • Supporting data platforms reporting tools and pipeline infrastructure
  • Monitoring uptime error logging and system health
  • Maintaining project plans timelines action lists and status updates
  • Coordinating between the Head of Technology internal stakeholders external developers SaaS vendors and business teams
  • Helping define requirements scope user stories acceptance criteria and business workflows
  • Preparing meeting notes decisions follow-ups and project documentation
  • Tracking open questions blockers risks dependencies and next steps
  • Testing new systems coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) collecting feedback and managing rollout checklists
  • Translating business needs into clear technical requirements
  • Documenting workflows edge cases system rules and operational processes
  • Helping prioritise product backlogs based on business value urgency and operational impact
  • Working with users to understand pain points and system requirements
  • Preparing specifications for developers vendors or implementation partners
  • Supporting testing release notes user guides and team training
  • Triaging internal IT and systems issues
  • Coordinating fixes with vendors developers or service providers
  • Supporting access requests account setup basic troubleshooting and user queries
  • Documenting data sources owners flows definitions and reporting needs
  • Supporting data platform BI dashboard and pipeline initiatives
  • Assisting with website and application tracking setup (tag management event tracking conversion tracking CRM attribution)
  • Coordinating data flows between websites marketing platforms CRM systems and BI/reporting tools
  • Supporting access reviews and user permission audits
  • Helping maintain security policies system records and compliance documentation
  • Tracking risks remediation actions and follow-ups
  • Preparing agendas notes summaries and follow-up actions for the Head of Technology
  • Maintaining priority lists and weekly planning views
  • Managing project workload deadlines and open actions
  • Preparing internal updates status reports and decision documents
  • Following up with stakeholders and vendors
  • Protecting the Head of Technologys focus by taking ownership of coordination admin and operational follow-through

What you need to be considered

  • Strong technical aptitude and genuine curiosity about how systems work
  • 3-5 years experience in technology operations technical project coordination product ownership IT administration systems support SaaS administration or a similar role
  • Ability to understand technical systems without needing to be a developer
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent written documentation and communication skills
  • Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with SaaS platforms cloud tools identity systems business systems or internal digital products
  • Good understanding of APIs databases integrations hosting DNS authentication data pipelines analytics and security concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and operational priorities simultaneously
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Technically curious and a fast learner
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
