Starting Salary Range: $55113-$71677 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position Summary: The Manager Student Life and Leadership Development support JCCCs mission by serving as a leader within the Student Life & Leadership department focusing on the day-to-day execution of engagement programs and the direct support of student organizations to enhance campus retention. Reporting to the Director this role supervises student staff manages localized budgets serves as a frontline advisor to the Student Senate and oversees the Center for Student Involvement. By administering the online involvement platform and delivering leadership curricula the incumbent translates student development theory into actionable programming. This position requires an energetic organized professional who can balance policy compliance with empathetic mentorship ensuring a safe inclusive and high-energy environment for a diverse student body.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 4 years of related experience.
Position detailsinclude but are not limited to:
- Staff Management & Fiscal Oversight: Hire train supervise and evaluate a diverse team of full-time and part-time staff. Manage budgets across multiple cost centers ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource alignment.
- Student Involvement & Retention Strategy: Design and execute co-curricular and extra-curricular offerings to facilitate student involvement and drive institutional retention efforts. Strategically support and scale student participation within campus clubs and organizations. Serve as the primary administrator for the online Involvement Platform to streamline student engagement.
- Club Operations & Compliance: Author and maintain club-related policies and procedures ensuring strict compliance with broader campus regulations. Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support for student leaders and faculty/staff club advisors. Coordinate the collection and analysis of program activity data to evaluate effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Shared Governance & Advising: Serve as the primary advisor to the Student Senate providing mentorship and institutional context. Oversee the execution of student elections the allocation of student funding and the management of formal meetings. Foster leadership development within the framework of shared governance and student advocacy.
- Leadership Development & Curriculum Design: Lead flagship student leadership programs including the Cavalier Leadership Program (CLP) Collegiate Leadership Competition (CLC) and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Develop and assess a comprehensive leadership curriculum tailored to student needs. Map all leadership initiatives to establish student development outcomes to ensure measurable growth.
