Head Coach Girls Varsity Basketball

Position Overview

The Stony Brook School is seeking a Head Coach for the Girls Varsity Basketball program for the

season. The Head Coach will lead the program fostering an environment of skill development teamwork sportsmanship and character formation. This position requires a commitment to the schools mission and values as well as the ability to partner with faculty staff and families to support the holistic growth of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program including practices games and

team activities.

• Develop and implement training and practice plans that support technical improvement conditioning and game preparation.
• Mentor and guide student-athletes in alignment with the schools values of character leadership and faith.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes parents and school administration.
• Organize team logistics including scheduling transportation and game preparation.
• Ensure compliance with all league and school policies.
• Promote a positive team culture that values respect sportsmanship and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach and inspire athletes of varying skill levels.
• Commitment to the mission and values of The Stony Brook School.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid Drivers license for driving a 14 passenger van to games.

Schedule

• Fall and Winter Seasons: September- March
• Monday -Friday practices: 3:30 PM - 5:45 PM
• Weekday and Weekend game competitions
