ETC (e-learning Technology and Communication) at the University of Floridas College of Education is seeking a versatile education professional for a short-term OPS position that combines best practices in instructional design with hands-on technologist support of learning management systems and e-learning software. A primary focus of this role is to assist ETC instructional designers and faculty subject-matter experts (SMEs) in the design development and implementation of 8 1-hour professional development microcourses in the Canvas Learning Management System specifically designed for the Alachua County School District (ACPS).Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Course Design & MaintenanceAssist the lead instructional designer in readying course shells in Canvas including preparing content using e-learning software like Articulate Rise and Storyline. Creating formative and summative assessments proofreading scripts for pedagogical videos.
Editing revising and inserting written video and iconography information from the subject matter expert into Canvas LMS and SCORM packages using Articulate Rise.
Ensuring that best ID practices are maintained including applying WCAG AA accessibility standards and implementing instructional design principles established by the lead ID.
Potentially generating AI content based on subject matter and lead ID feedback.
Instructional Technology & AI Support
Provide technical assistance to the subject matter experts in creating instructional material in Canvas. Provide direct support for instructional technologies used in college programs and initiatives.
Experience in creating and editing material using ChatGPT or other Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance teaching and learning.
Develop and update instructional resources inside learning management systems like Canvas and e-learning software (Articulate Rise)
Expected Salary:
$20.00 hourly
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
Experience with the Canvas Learning Management System either as an instructor or as a student.
Experience preferred but not required with Articulate Rise and Storyline e-learning software.
Experience using ChatGPT or other LLMs is highly preferred to support the exploration of AI-supported instructional tools
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment.
