Travel Registered Nurse Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Lubbock Texas
Facility: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
Unit: Emergency Services East 1 (ER Unit 10105)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (ER) to join a busy Level II Trauma Center in Lubbock Texas. This role requires strong clinical judgment rapid decision-making skills and the ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
The RN will manage a diverse patient population with a strong focus on stabilization triage and acute care interventions.
Key Details
- Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours) 19:00 to 07:00
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Orientation: 40 hours (Non-billable)
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Weekend Requirement: Yes (6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks)
- Block Scheduling: Optional
- Floating: Not required
- Call: Not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients
- Perform rapid assessment triage and stabilization of critical patients
- Manage cardiac and respiratory emergencies
- Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
- Assist with emergency procedures and trauma response
- Collaborate with physicians RTs and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience (hard stop requirement)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Strong experience in trauma and emergency care settings
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients independently
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
