Summary of Job Duties:

The Student Outreach and Education Specialist supports Equal Opportunity Compliance and Title IX (OEOC) in advancing campus education awareness and prevention initiatives. This role assists with student-focused outreach efforts related to Title IX equal opportunity and other civil rights compliance areas. The position provides hands-on experience in program development peer engagement and campus-wide awareness efforts that promote a safe respectful and inclusive university environment. This role is a 12-month part-time student position with a 20-hour per week schedule that may work nights occasionally as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support Student-Focused Outreach and Education
- Planning and facilitating student outreach programs including workshops tabling events residence hall presentations and student organization engagement
- Support peer education initiatives and interactive learning activities
- Assist with Compliance and Prevention Programming
- Prepare materials and presentations related to Title IX equal opportunity ADA accommodations and related topics
- Provide logistical support during trainings and educational sessions

Support Awareness Campaigns and Events
- Assist in planning and executing campus campaigns (e.g. Sexual Assault Awareness Month Teal Tuesday )
- Develop outreach materials such as flyers social media content and digital messaging

Collaborate with Campus Partners
Engage with student organizations and campus departments to promote OEOC initiatives
Serve as a peer resource to help increase awareness of rights resources and reporting options

Data Tracking and Administrative Support
Assist with tracking attendance and participation in programs and events
Support data entry survey collection and basic reporting for outreach efforts

General Support
Perform other duties as assigned in support of OEOC outreach training and prevention efforts

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student at the University of Arkansas

  • Must have junior status or higher

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Interest in civil rights Title IX equal opportunity or compliance-related work

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Teams or design tools for outreach materials

  • Eligible Fields of Study (aligned with educational focus areas) Education Communication Public Administration Higher Education Human Resources Sociology Social Work Psychology or related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate student in human resources higher education counseling public administration public policy or a related discipline

  • Prior involvement in student organizations peer education or campus programming

  • Experience with event planning outreach or campus engagement activities.

  • Experience with design and event planning tools for outreach programming

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfort engaging with peers in educational or outreach settings

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive topics appropriately

  • Ability to work effectively with students across a broad range of backgrounds and experiences

  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or basic design tools (e.g. Canva)
