Job Summary

We are seeking a Biomedical Engineer with a strong background in project management innovation and cardiovascular technologies to join the Arrhythmia Unit of our hospital.

This position is designed for a professional interested in bridging clinical research advanced cardiac imaging and innovation processes contributing to translational research focused on cardiac arrhythmias. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and coordinating research and innovation projects while enabling the integration of imaging-based methodologies into clinical and pre-clinical studies.

Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Analysis of cardiac imaging data including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with a focus on anatomical and substrate segmentation for arrhythmia-related studies.

  • Coordination and operational support of clinical and research projects ensuring alignment between clinical technical and regulatory requirements.

  • Acting as Study Coordinator overseeing study workflows documentation timelines and data quality standards.

  • Supporting the preparation and management of technical and regulatory documentation for research and innovation projects.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (clinicians engineers researchers and external partners) to ensure effective project execution.

  • Contributing to innovation initiatives including early-stage project development evaluation and potential translation into clinical practice.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering Life Sciences or a related field.

  • Additional training or postgraduate education in Biomedical Engineering Healthcare Innovation or Project Management.

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (business level).

Desirable:
  • Masters degree (e.g. MBA in Healthcare Biomedical Business Management or Innovation).

  • Additional training in regulatory affairs clinical research or medical device development.

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • At least 13 years of experience in healthcare clinical research or medical technology environments.

  • Experience in project coordination or management within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of cardiac imaging modalities (CT MRI) or willingness to develop expertise in this area.

  • Understanding of clinical research processes and regulated healthcare environments.

  • Ability to manage technical documentation and coordinate project workflows

Desirable:
  • Experience in innovation projects early-stage technology development or translational research.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for medical devices or clinical studies.

  • Experience in cardiology particularly electrophysiology or interventional cardiology.

  • Ability to work in structured project environments (Agile Scrum or similar methodologies).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate clinical and technical data into actionable insights.

Labour conditions:

  • Working hours: Part-time (28 hours per week).

  • Starting date: As soon as possible .

  • Gross annual salary: 21.500 - 26.000 Remuneration will be determined by experience skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.

  • Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
