Senior Project Manager

Work model: Remote (can be based anywhere in South Africa). Need to be able to legally work in SA to be considered.
Salary: R45 000 - R70 000 CTC
Contract: 3-year fixed-term contract

Our client is a remote-first social impact organisation connecting talented youth to learning and career opportunities. Theyre looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the most complex projects: co-funded structures ecosystem/umbrella programmes new partner types and large-scale or multi-country cohorts ensuring delivery plans are robust sign-offs are met and nothing moves forward unless its truly ready.

What the job involves..

• Leading and directing a small project team on Tier 1 projects (PM Coordinator)
• Owning detailed project design post-handover (scope deliverables timelines resourcing dependencies)
• Building a plan that can survive real-world complexity and ensuring senior review before it goes to delivery teams
• Managing co-funder sign-off obligations and mapping who funds what (across labs phases and learners)
• Coordinating delivery across multiple internal labs and ensuring crisp handovers and briefs
• Owning stage-gate compliance so nothing progresses without required criteria met
• Ensuring learner data completeness across the full lifecycle (protocol ownership)
• Producing delivery data/progress content for partner-facing reporting (framing owned elsewhere)
• Escalating partner relationship risks and operational delivery risks to the right senior stakeholders

What you need to be considered..

• 7 years experience in project/programme management in complex multi-stakeholder environments
• A professional project management certification (PMI CAPM CPMP Six Sigma or similar)
• Experience managing co-funded or multi-funder projects
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small delivery team without formal line authority
• Strong systems/process discipline (comfortable designing and enforcing stage gates)
• High data literacy (able to distinguish cohort-level vs individual-level risk)
• Strong written communication and comfort in audit-scrutiny environments
