We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist

In this role you will:

• Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA for a DevOps infrastructure delivery role; configuring delivering and supporting Oracle/PostgreSQL server environments and services.
• Deliver and provide technical support for CTO technologies while conforming to high quality standards and best practices maintaining and improving SLAs and ensuring compliance to HSBC policies at all times.
• Provide troubleshooting support in incident and perform root cause analysis to prevent problems happening. Appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.
• Actively participate to achieve organisation objectives for efficiency.
• Advise on Oracle /PostgreSQL design development and best practice for Distributed Compute throughout project lifecycles from build through to ITSA and implementation processes.
• Write Linux /Python scripts to automate and streamline BAU tasks. Building automation capabilities to support the execution of operational activities. Perform pro-active analysis on day-to-day work to obtain automation on deliveries thereby reducing repetitive and standardised tasks/processes.
• Pro-actively review information in conjunction with service level agreements to identify any capacity issues and specify any required changes. Work with application teams to agree and implement short- and medium-term modifications to demand.
• Provide consultancy guidance and collaborate with other infrastructure application support and engineering teams.

To be successful you will:

• Oracle DBA with PostgreSQL knowledge and experience between 12 -15 years
• Hands on experience on Oracle /PostgreSQL database builds (12c and above) configuration upgrade Migration patching and troubleshooting all issues strong knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL RDBMS and clustering concepts.
• Performance tuning Analysis of AWR ADDM ASH reports RAC ASM Data-guard
• Good working knowledge of Unix platforms. Strong knowledge on Backup/Recovery RMAN & OEM and Strong shell scripting skills.
• Good understanding of PL/SQL Awareness of monitoring and scheduling tools.
• Candidate should have sense of ownership and urgency attention to detail flexibility process orientation strong analytical skills sense of vigilance and adherence to all compliance procedures and policies.
• Devops tooling knowledge like Jenkins and Ansible
• Excellent Leadership and communication skills with ability to describe complex technical scenarios in a concise manner both verbally and written and articulating the content depending on the audience
