Instructional Support Teachers Fall 2026

This posting is for prospecitve openings for Fall 2026. LVA utilizes ISTs in all grade levels K.

Job Summary:

ISTs work under the direction of classroom teachers to provide in-classroom support and small group instruction for students. This position is full-time and requires a candidate who is flexible and willing to provide coverage for teacher absences. ISTs may work with students in regular education special education and ELL programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support:Assist classroom teachers in providing instruction and support to students during class activities.
• Small Group Instruction:Lead small group instruction sessions to reinforce lessons and provide additional support to students who need it.
• Teacher Coverage:Provide coverage for classroom teachers during absences ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Student Engagement:Foster a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and learning.
• Collaboration:Work closely with classroom teachers to understand lesson plans and instructional goals ensuring seamless support for students.
• Student Assessment:Assist in assessing student progress and providing feedback to classroom teachers to help inform instructional strategies.
• Classroom Management:Help maintain classroom order and discipline following school policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred.
• Interest in developing a career in education is required.
• Experience working with elementary school students is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers staff and students.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and provide coverage as needed.
