Coach, DU Bar Success Program

Located in one of the nations most iconic and dynamic cities the University of Denver Sturm College of Law has a long and distinguished tradition in experiential education. The law school features a DU Bar Success program for graduates of Denver Law to aid in bar preparation studies with numerouspractice problems utilizing bar exam program features workshops mock bar exams individualized feedback and coaching. We provide one-on-one coaching to help graduates keep on track and make the most of the learning experience.

Position Description

The Sturm College of Law seeks to hire part-time (hourly non-benefited) Coaches to advance the DU Bar Success Program through coaching working with bar takers law students and recent graduates as they prepare for bar exams.

This is an hourly non-benefited position not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

• Work closely with and support the Program Director and Assistant Director.
• Meet routinely with students and graduates to coach through bar exam preparation.
• Track individual meetings document bar studier learning progress and other information relevant to bar coaching.
• If desired proctor mock bar exams with a physical presence at the law school.

Required Qualifications

• A JD or equivalent legal degree
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and providing comments on word documents
• Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education teaching instructional design cognitive science counseling and affiliated fields.
• Licensed to practice law in Colorado

Work Schedule

Hours are flexible and could accommodate remote work.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for this position is $40.00

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
