Job Summary
An established asset management firm is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to lead its credit strategies across investment grade high yield and structured credit portfolios. This role is suited to a commercially astute credit professional who can balance performance delivery with disciplined risk management while contributing to the broader investment strategy of the business.

Portfolio Management & Credit Analysis
- Lead the management of credit portfolios across investment grade high yield and structured credit
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis on issuers and borrowers assessing creditworthiness and downside risks
- Monitor portfolio performance identifying trends risks and return opportunities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise portfolio performance while mitigating credit risk
- Manage and respond to credit events engaging with stakeholders where required
- Produce high-quality reporting and insights for internal stakeholders clients and credit committees
- Deliver regular portfolio reviews including performance attribution and risk assessments
- Translate complex data into clear actionable investment insights
- Support the development and enhancement of credit risk models tools and frameworks
- Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trails of all credit decisions
- Engage with regulatory bodies where required
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of credit policies and governance frameworks
- Integrate ESG and sustainability considerations into investment decision-making
- Stay abreast of macroeconomic trends market developments and sector-specific risks
- Contribute to responsible investing and impact reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams clients and external counterparties
- Participate in client engagements presenting credit strategies and portfolio performance
- Collaborate across investment risk and distribution teams
- Minimum 5 years experience in credit portfolio management credit analysis or related fields
- Proven experience across investment grade high yield and/or structured credit
- Strong academic track record; CA(SA) CFA or equivalent highly preferred
- Solid experience gained within asset management banking private credit/equity or ratings agencies
