The Energetics and Propulsion Department is an engineering organization in the Hardware Engineering Directorate. This Department is responsible for the full spectrum of warhead fuzing and propulsion designs/technology including power systems ignition and all other weapon initiation safety systems technology. An individual in this role will be expected to work with a product team and functional subject matter experts to develop architectures top level design concepts requirements and manage production efforts for a variety of one shots devices (i.e. initiators gas generators pyroswitches explosive bolts).

What You Will Do

• Complex problem solving
• Responsible for technical execution of tasks
• Commitment to program schedule and budget
• Technical oversight of our power source batteries and/or one shot development programs
• You will ensure two-way communication management; serve as the day-to-day liaison to the programs concerning resource technical assignments
• Contribute to technology development roadmaps
• Support failure analysis and corrective action through redesign of failed power source or one shot device components or systems
• Present power source and/or one shot device design models and supporting analyses/test results to internal and customer review meetings
• Support proposals requiring one shots technologies
• Support development of Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS)
• Oversee fact-finding and contract negotiations
• Test data reduction
• Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables
• Must be willing to travel to suppliers and government facilities
• Proposal and cost preparation requirements definition and one shot device subsystems analysis test and verification; operational test support; supplier collaboration

Qualification You Must Have

• Bachelors Degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in power sources / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree
• Ten (10) or more years of directly related experience in energetic fuze or propulsive devices and their applications
• Directly related experience in one shots subsystems design development and test
• Experience in working with and managing suppliers
• Supplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW)
• Working knowledge or experience with either missile design or development production support and integration
• Experience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives and technical leadership
• Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)

The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
