Position Summary
The Doctor of Physical Therapy ( DPT ) Program in the Department of Graduate Health Professions School of Health & Human Sciences ( SHHS ) at IU Indianapolis invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position. This is a full-time non-tenure-track faculty appointment designed for individuals with strong clinical expertise and a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of physical therapists. The successful candidate will contribute to the programs mission through excellence in teaching student advising and mentorship scholarship of teaching and learning service to the university and PT profession and professional engagement. PT faculty collaborates with colleagues in the Graduate Health Professions (Occupational Therapy Nutrition and Dietetics and Physician Assistants) to support student success program development and accreditation standards. Additionally the successful applicant will serve on programs school and university committees. Faculty members have opportunities and support for scholarly activity and faculty development. Strong preference will be given to candidates with ABPTS specialist certification in the candidates primary practice area. We welcome candidates with clinical specialization in pediatrics musculoskeletal neurological or geriatrics. Job Duties: 70% Teaching (9 credit hours per semester and scholarship) 30% Service Responsibilities: Teach courses in the Physical Therapy Program. Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives and community engagement. Mentor professional students. Provide service at the departmental school and university levels. Support learners through effective evidence-based teaching practices. Applications will be reviewed beginning May 15 2026 and will be accepted until the position is filled. The ideal target starting date is August 1 2026.
