Job Summary: As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading the engineering team tasked with the development of an AI-native product designed for professional creators. The products objective is to empower professional creators to direct and produce high-quality production-grade AI-generated content with a particular emphasis on automated evaluations and validations.
About the team: At JioHotstar the GenAI studios is an AI native agile & fast-moving team focused on turning bold ideas into impactful products. From rapid prototyping of new concepts to building scalable platforms that power future growth we thrive on experimentation and innovation.
Our platform highlights creators and their narratives by giving them AI-powered systems using advanced machine learning and multimedia pipelines.
As part of this team youll work at the intersection of creativity and technology building end-to-end experiences experimenting with emerging tech and shaping the future of entertainment content.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and scale the GenAI engineering team responsible for developing and delivering high-quality features for AI content production
- Partner closely with Product and Data Science teams to define and drive and deliver the tech roadmap items
- Design backend systems that scale across multiple frontier models
- Champion engineering excellence across observability performance tuning cost efficiency and resilience engineering.
- Foster a high-ownership engineering culture focused on data-driven decision making experimentation velocity and customer-first thinking.
- Create effective mechanisms to set goals for the team create execution plans and track progress against those. Youll collaborate with other Developers Program Managers and tech support teams in an agile environment to estimate and deliver objectives set together as a team.
Skills and attributes for success:
- Full stack expertise with solid experience with Python & JS frameworks like React or Next
- Hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
- Experience with high scale databases - MySQL NoSQL (Cassandra Redis DynamoDB)
- Experience with Google Cloud for production applications
- Experience with CI/CD processes
- A strong track record of project delivery for large cross-functional projects and bringing in and growing engineering talent
- Documented experience in using AI tools as part of daily work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 8 years of experience in software development and 3 years of experience in managing software development teams.
