Job Description

Summary:

The Associate will work across multiple disciplines including Acquisitions and Asset Management working closely with experienced investment professionals and receive on-the-job training in each of these fields.

The Associate will provide support in financial modelling and investment analysis of existing assets in the portfolio and real estate investment opportunities identified by the Australian Real Estate Team. This role will also assist in the preparation of investment recommendations investment committee papers asset business plans and property and fund reporting.

Depending on the individuals performance the Associate may be offered a permanent position at the end or during the 22-month program if they have displayed the required competencies and delivered high quality output. Performance will be assessed throughout the program.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting the Acquisitions team with deal screening and underwriting of investment opportunities across APAC including cash flow modeling return sensitivities verifying assumptions and market research

• Participate in preparation of Investment Committee materials

• Assist in due diligence and research market conditions including location assessment rent comparables sales comparables and replacement cost analysis

• Assisting the Asset Management team in day-to-day active management including capex planning sell-hold analysis lease approval memos refinancing scenarios preparing annual business plans coordinating quarterly valuations updating asset performance and regular reporting

• Review analyse and comment on investment recommendations made by other members of the team

• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Line Manager or other key members of the IRE team.

Formal education:

• Educated to at least degree level ideally in property engineering/science finance economics or business studies.

Work experience/knowledge/competencies:

• 1 - 2 years professional experience in finance/investment banking property brokerage auditing consulting or related fields

• Proficient in Excel and basic financial modelling

• Familiarity with real estate investment fundamentals would be advantageous

• Superior quantitative analytical and numerical ability

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
