The Epidemiology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division of Fred Hutch is seeking a Research Assistant to utilize statistical methods to lead analyses of spatial transcriptomic data from a breast cancer study.
Responsibilities
The Research Assistant will lead statistical analyses of spatial transcriptomic data focused on identifying novel tumor tissue based features related to risk of recurrence across different breast cancer subtypes. This will involve learning statistical techniques and also keeping up with current literature in this field. They will disseminate study findings through submitting abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences and drafting manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. The duration of this position is approximately 3 months beginning summer of 2026. The position does not cover tuition.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree and enrollment in an applicable graduate program (e.g. Epidemiology) is required
- Knowledge and/or prior experience in epidemiology and biostatistics is required
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS) is required
- Highly motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $48.09 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
