Job Title: Vision Systems Technical LeadLocation: Cambridge ON On-siteJob Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $90000 - $125000Benefits: RRSP health/dental/vision package reimbursement for tuition and professional dues paid vacation personal days and sick daysThe PositionReporting to the Controls Engineering Manager the Vision Systems Technical Lead will be a primary resource for highly technical applications / issues relating to vision. The Vision Systems Technical Lead will assist in the development and implementation of procedures and training initiatives relating to vision component selection best practices and consult regularly with department personnel to improve performance and quality. The Vision Systems Technical Lead will lead vision Proof of Principals and project implementation and ensure project goals are met while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture. What Youll Be Doing:TechnicalRecognize problems initiate action assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issues related tovision systemsDevelop and support training and technical development initiatives for resources within the Controlsdepartment for tasks such as component selection and component setup during integrationDevelop and contribute to the improvement of vision related standards and best practices at EclipseHelp to develop and update training material with current vision standardsAssist Software Designers and Engineering Supervision to ensure new project vision requirements are clearlyunderstood and Proof of Principal testing is completed for all vision applicationsMeet with vendors regularly and research new technologies vision platforms and trends in programmingtechniques that can improve vision system quality and performanceAssist Applications Engineering and participate in conceptual designs that will give Eclipse a competitive edgeon new customer proposalsWhen not completing strictly Vision activities work with hardware and/or software team to assist thedepartment with completing additional project requirementsLeadershipTeach assist and advise Software Designers on vision programming practices and techniquesConsult with the Software Design Supervisor Engineering Supervision and other departments within Eclipseon vision system improvementsDirect organize and coordinate Eclipse internal vision projects to ensure deliverables are metWork to specific project budgets and timelines provided by Project ManagementPromote positive relations within Eclipse as well as partners customers vendors and distributorsRecommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations which support continuousimprovement initiativesEnforce Eclipse policies throughout the department including Human Resources Safety and EnvironmentalPromote personal development and safe work practices the Eclipse working environment and improvedepartment operationsMaintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate vision and confidentiality ensuring that allbusiness activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc.
