Job Summary
Portsdown Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive community where children are at the heart of everything we do. We are located right on the border of Portsmouth and Hampshire next to QA hospital. Our recent Ofsted inspection in March 2024 rated us Good in all categories recognising our commitment to providing high-quality education and nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The position is initially a one-year fixed term contract with a possibility of an extension at the end of this period. This position is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher on the main scale. M1 M. The year group allocation will be dependent on the candidates skill set.
The Role
In this role you will play a key part in shaping a happy purposeful classroom where every child is known valued and encouraged to succeed.
As a class teacher you will:
- Create a calm caring and inclusive environment where children feel safe and ready to learn
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity and build a love of learning
- Adapt your teaching to support and challenge all learners so that every child can achieve their best
- Use assessment naturally within your teaching to understand pupils and guide what comes next
- Build strong positive relationships with pupils families and colleagues
- Play an active part in school life contributing to our wider community and shared values
