The role

This pivotal role as Manager Ministerial and Parliamentary Services leads the Ministerial and Parliamentary Services function ensuring the departments communications with the Ministers office and Parliament are strategic timely and aligned with government priorities. This role ensures high-quality ministerial briefings and parliamentary outputs are delivered manages sensitive issues with discretion and guides the department through complex political terrain with clarity and confidence.

Youll be at the centre of government engagement - balancing urgency with precision responsible for leading a high-performing team and driving continuous improvement across systems and processes. With a strong grasp of public administration and a sharp eye for risk this role demands strategic foresight political acumen and a collaborative spirit to deliver outcomes that matter.

What you will bring to the role

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process fostering collaboration and buy-in.
  • Skilled in navigating politically sensitive environments with discretion sound judgment and strategic foresight.
  • Adept at managing high-pressure workflows and competing priorities while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Committed to continuous improvement driving enhancements in systems processes and service delivery.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate multi-portfolio outputs.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams engaging with complex stakeholders in a challenging and highly politically sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government and public administration legislative and the role of Minsters and agencies in Government.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.
