Permanent

Grade B

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

Are you passionate about housing and motivated to make a real difference for homeless families If so this is a great opportunity to join our Temporary Accommodation Service and support some of Birminghams most vulnerable residents.

With over 5000 households currently living in temporary accommodation across a diverse property portfolio the Housing Solutions & Support Service is experiencing unprecedented demand. Were looking for committed proactive individuals who want to help families move forward into safe secure and permanent homes.

What Youll Be Doing

As part of our team youll guide households through every stage of their Temporary Accommodation journey. Your work will include:

  • Carrying out welcome visits and annual tenancy reviews
  • Supporting families to secure longterm housing through Social Housing or the Private Rented Sector
  • Empowering residents to overcome barriers and take positive steps toward resolving their housing situation
  • Ensuring licence conditions are met including taking enforcement action when necessary

This role blends support problem solving and accountability ideal for someone who can balance empathy with clear expectations.

What Were Looking For

  • An understanding of tenancy management homelessness legislation or welfare benefits
  • Confidence travelling across Birmingham and surrounding boroughs
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced high pressure environment
  • Above all a cando attitude resilience and a genuine commitment to helping people rebuild their lives
