We are looking for a dedicated and resilient individual to join our Legal & Governance directorate as a Coroner Support Officer and Listings Clerk. This is a role suited to someone who can remain professional calm and empathetic while supporting the public during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

This opportunity offers genuine scope to grow and develop within a specialist team at the heart of the Coronial Service. You will work with experienced professionals gain exposure to complex casework and build expertise in legislation court procedures and multiagency collaboration. As part of Wiltshire Council you will benefit from a supportive environment modern systems and the chance to contribute directly to a service with meaningful community impact.

Your daily work will involve managing inquest listings preparing case files coordinating hearings handling sensitive information engaging with bereaved families and partner agencies and ensuring legal and procedural compliance across all aspects of the Coroners Court.

We are seeking someone with an awareness of the work of the Coronial Service educated to HNC or NVQ Level 4 or able to demonstrate equivalent skills and ideally holding a Level 3 qualification in Customer Service Business or Public Administration. You should bring knowledge and practical experience of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 a strong understanding of statutory requirements in relation to processing the deceased and experience within a court setting including the preparation and collation of bundles.
