About the Role
You will be an important member of our clinical units by ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred care to all patients. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide effective and efficient evidence-based care whilst also demonstrating commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
The Plastic and Reconstructive Fellowship will include exposure to a wide spectrum of reconstructive surgery including breast sarcoma head and neck skin malignancy hand surgery and maxillofacial surgery. Clinical management of patients will be under the care and direction of the Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. You will be expected to undertake a clinical research project and be involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical teaching and mentoring.
Classifications for this position will range from HM25 - HM30 ($129048.40 - $177622.12 pro rata per annum) salary sacrifice and excluding super
What you will bring:
- MBBS or equivalent
- FRACS Part II or equivalent
- Current police clearance or willing to obtain
- AHPRA Registration
- Excellent skills and competencies as a clinician and excellent communication skills with patients their families and ones colleagues
- Teaching commitment and skills in the areas of undergraduate post-graduate and continuing medical education
- Ongoing involvement with and encouragement of research
About Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery
The St Vincents Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery unit is involved in all forms of reconstructive surgery and has a special interest in microsurgical techniques head and neck hand breast reconstruction and oral-maxillo-facial surgery.
The team is at the forefront of developing new techniques and improving patient outcomes through our program of basic science research particularly in the fields of Tissue Engineering Angiogenesis Matrix Biology Peripheral Nerve Regeneration Anti-fibrosis and Ischaemia Reperfusion Injury.
