Assistant Professor without tenure, Emergency Medicine

The University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is seeking one Assistant Professor without tenure (WOT) due to funding on the Clinician-Scholar pathway at 1.00 FTE for the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and Harborview Medical Center (HMC). The Department of Emergency Medicine encompasses the UWMC-Montlake the UWMC-Northwest Hospital (NWH) and the Harborview Medical Center Emergency Departments.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 - June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date is August 1 2026 or thereafter. Duties include the teaching of trainees supervision of clinical care team within the UW Emergency Department(s). All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. The UW DEM supports a 4-year Emergency Medicine Residency Program and several fellowships.

The base salary for this position will be $17500 $24199 per month ($210000-$290388 per annum) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note this represents only the base addition there may be an opportunity for a monthly clinical incentive payment through UW Physicians practice plan and may also include a relocation incentive or administrative supplement dependent upon your role within the department. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determination and calculations.
