WhoWereLooking For:

We areseeking a result-driven senior level estimator with experience in multifamily estimating to be an integral part of our preconstruction team. The ideal candidate has 5 years experiencedemonstratinga unique ability to perform conceptual schematic and design development budgets detailed cost estimates and delivering quantity take-offs in partnership with the project management and field operations team.

Our new senior estimator will work directly with the Director of Preconstruction Executive Vice President of Construction and Business Development teams to provide competitive thorough project estimates and win proposals while partnering with the operations to complete an effective internal hand off to ensure project success. WhatYoullDo:

• Support the Director of Preconstruction proactively assisting with all aspects.
• Handle multiple projects from time of RFP to bid submission
• Perform and provide complete thorough and accurate take-offs electronically
• Understand unit pricing throughvarious aspectsof construction.
• Actively search for any Value Engineering solutions that can be provided to our clients
• Create and foster relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Seek alternative sources for subcontractors and labor to get the best possible pricing
• Follow up with all invited subcontractors via phone and email to ensure deadlines are met
• Manage site walk-throughs and document items seen and discussed when viewing with clients
• Understand discuss and create scopes of work to distribute to subcontractors

• Qualify sub bids with care to ensure scope of work required is covered withinbid.
• Input data into bid forms create detailed qualifications and assemble bid packages.
• Managing the RFP process ensuring maximum coverage in all trades.
• Maintain internal organization adhering to tracking of RFPs and bids
• Lead and perform as necessary administrative duties on projects
• Ensure detailed Hand-off of awarded projects to operations
• Build winning unit costs for all trades to assist in future bidding
• Prepare for and attend bid review meetings with qualifying bids and show the bids from the subs in GMP scenario
• Provide conceptual estimates and become well versed in historical square footage costs in our vertical markets
• Work with accounting and project managers to estimate fees overhead and profit
• Provide meaning analysis of completed costs vs estimated with explanation of variables.
• Embrace being the project expert effectively briefing the management team on the work required changes made to scopes and proactively transfer that information to project management
• Help build mutually rewarding relationships with potential clients subcontractors and vendors.
• Mentor junior estimators in a teaching environment
  

What You BringtoTheTable:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for thedegreerequirement. A minimum of 5 years of direct project estimating experience
• Excellent understanding of reading blueprints and specifications.
• A working knowledge of the commercial construction industry.
• Experience using a computerblueprinttake off program (Plan Swift Bluebeam or similar).
• Experience with an online bid solicitation tool

• Organized with great attention to detail and thorough note taking.
• Well versed in excel and all MS Office Programs.specifically Exce for tracking construction costing. Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Sage estimating softwareprogramsa plus.
• Strong and proactive communication (written phone and in person).
• Ability to work well with coworkers subcontractors vendors architects and designers.
• Team players can take initiative self-guideand help lead the companys estimating efforts.
• Experience with phased occupied projects additions and tenant fit outs.
• Enjoysworking and being busy.
• Performs well under pressure.
• Some travel may be required depending on businessneed.
  

Ideal candidate will have formal training in a broad range of commercial construction estimating and a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience for a commercial construction management company with solid MEP knowledge and proven success in renovations and new construction ranging inmagnitudeof $200000 - $100 million your assignment will becommensuratewith experience. Experience with multifamily is a plus.

• Salary Range:$110000.00 to $135000.00 commensurate with experience
