Job Summary
Temporary High School English Teacher (Per Diem)
Location: Moore Catholic High School Position Type: Temporary (through end of current school year) Compensation: $120$150 per day (based on experience and degree)
Position Overview: Moore Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and flexible English teacher to join our faculty for the remainder of the school year. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging standards-aligned instruction that supports student growth in reading writing and critical thinking in accordance with New York State standards.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver daily English lessons aligned with New York State Next Generation ELA Learning Standards
Create a structured and supportive classroom environment
Assess and monitor student progress providing timely feedback
Adapt instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
Maintain accurate attendance and grading records
Collaborate with department members and administration as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in English or a related field (Masters preferred)
New York State teaching certification in English (preferred but not required for temporary appointment)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to step into an existing curriculum and maintain continuity of instruction
Start Date: Immediate
