We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant / Administrative Assistant to support both the financial operations and day-to-day administrative functions of our economic development organization. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing accounting responsibilities with administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
Accounts payable payroll billings and receivables
Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
Support monthly quarterly and year-end close processes
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Assist with budgeting reporting and audit preparation
Job costing - track grants contracts and project-related expenditures
Administrative Duties:
Provide general office support including scheduling filing and correspondence
Assist with meeting coordination agendas and minutes
Maintain organizational records and databases
Support WSEDC Enterprises as needed
Handle incoming calls emails and inquiries professionally
Assist with special projects and events related to economic development initiatives
Requirements
2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Experience with accounting software; Sage
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field
Experience working in with various business types government or economic development environment
