Summary Statement
Essential Functions
- Provides interpretation implementation and communication of state and federal regulations to statewide regional and administrative staff.
- Develops and coordinates budget proposals for divisions operating budget. Recommend need for policy and procedure revisions in order to accomplish program objectives meet clients needs.
- Supervises reviews evaluates coordinates and prioritizes the work of staff and make recommendations on hiring and disciplinary action.
- Monitors hearings and grievances to assure client/employee provider complaints are processed in accordance with time standards and decisions are in accordance with policy.
- Maintains/negotiates contractual agreements develops proposal requests to implement provisions of state and federal regulations and/or to provide program services.
- Monitors program service effectiveness through federal/state program reviews statistical reports and analyzes and develops corrective action.
- Assesses current operations and regulation requirements for applicability to computerization and develop maintenance request to instruct programmers on steps needed to offset changes.
- Chairs statewide committees task forces arranges meetings coordinates interdivisional projects develops press releases provides information to media and prepares various analytical and statistical reports.
Job Requirements
- Three years experience in health or human services work such as applying theories principles laws and practices of health or human services programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals families or communities such as financial support employment unemployment housing health care disease prevention substance abuse child protective services physical/mental health treatment and prevention orrehabilitation.
- Three years experiencein developing policies and procedures.
- Six months experience in health or human services program administration such as overseeing and directing the development implementation and evaluation of health or human services programs and services; planning and establishing short and long range program goals and objectives. Providing advice to other agency organizational units through consultation.
- Six months experiencein budget management and control which includes managing a budget for the purpose of keeping expenditures within the limitations of available appropriations and available revenue and maintaining monitoring projecting and controlling a budget within set policies and procedures.
- Six months experience in staff supervision which includes planning assigning reviewing and evaluating the work of others.
