Senior Operations Manager

Role Purpose

Farmz2U helps farmers farm better using data. We need a Senior Operations Manager to take ownership of our core supply chain and field execution across our operating regions. You will direct the Operations Team taking over executive execution tasks managing our field teams and producing measurable results. This role requires a hands-on manager who can coordinate complex logistics while also handling high-level multilateral conversations. You will guide the Operations Associates and Field Operations staff to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within standards. You must be an analytical problem solver with strong attention to detail who can manage multiple projects at once.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Field Execution and Team Management

• Direct the daily activities of the Operations Associates and Field Operations staff across Nigeria and Kenya.
  
• Manage the field teams to ensure on-ground execution matches our company targets and quality assurance programs.
  
• Provide direct hands-on support for core cycles including logistics planning partner onboarding and supply chain coordination.
  
• Support the hiring and training of new team members to build a highly productive operations unit.
  

Cross-Functional Coordination and Finance

• Sync directly with the Sales department to handle order fulfillments and ensure proper customer verification.
  
• Manage the finance team which sits within the Operations department to secure financial compliance and budget alignment across all projects.
  
• Ensure strict adherence to financial processes particularly the proper management and approval of expense requisitions.
  
• Enforce company-wide policies and standard operating procedures ensuring every team member works within the agreed guidelines.
  

Strategy Reporting and Project Management

• Submit detailed weekly reports summarizing field activities supply chain progress and team performance.
  
• Develop comprehensive quarterly strategies for the operations unit and ensure the daily work aligns directly with the overall operations roadmap.
  
• Take on occasional project leadership roles managing specific initiatives from the planning phase through to final execution.
  
• Identify repetitive tasks and work with the team to implement tech-based solutions using available software tools.
  

Stakeholder and Multilateral Relationship Management

• Take over and manage ongoing multilateral conversations with external partners ensuring clear communication and positive outcomes.
  
• Manage relationships with buyers and off-takers through regular communication to ensure customer retention and portfolio growth.
  
• Address customer issues directly and facilitate quick resolutions to maintain a top-class customer experience.
  
• Follow up on pending items and ensure prompt payments for services offered to secure timely debt collection.
  

Requirements

Knowledge Experience and Qualifications Required

A Bachelors degree in Business Management Operations Supply Chain Engineering Technology or a related field.

A minimum of 4 to 5 years of professional experience in operations or supply chain management with clear evidence of leading teams.

Demonstrated experience working with organizations where producing social or economic change was a core mandate.

Prior experience managing cross-functional teams and handling field operations directly.

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to negotiate and converse easily with external partners and internal teams.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets for factual analysis and reporting. Strong organizational and time management abilities to coordinate complex field logistics.

An active and self-motivated approach to tasks with a clear ability to work independently and see projects through to completion.

Calm under pressure with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to fix immediate on ground issues.
