Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a competent Senior Technical Officer to support the execution supervision and monitoring of water infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have solid field and technical experience in construction installation and operation of water systems including pipelines boreholes pumping systems and treatment facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Supervision:

  • Supervise construction and installation activities on-site.

  • Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.

  • Provide technical support to contractors and field teams.

Project Implementation:

  • Assist in project planning and coordination.

  • Monitor progress and report on project milestones.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues during execution.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Verify materials and workmanship meet required standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare site reports progress updates and technical documentation.

  • Maintain records of project activities.



Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • BSc/HND in Engineering or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 58 years of relevant experience in water or infrastructure projects.

  • Experience in field supervision is required.


Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of construction methods and water systems.

  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


Personal Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently on-site.


Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate to project locations in Niger State or Plateau State as required.


Required Skills:

Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience: BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil/structural engineering and project management. Proven track record managing reinforced concrete reservoir or water-retaining structure projects. Mandatory experience handling donor-funded NGO-sponsored or government infrastructure projects. Professional Certification (Compulsory): Registered with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) Mandatory. Active member of NSE (Nigerian Society of Engineers) Mandatory. PMP PRINCE2 or other project management certification is an added advantage. Technical Competencies: Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and construction. Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project Primavera). Familiarity with structural design software (ETABS SAFE AutoCAD). Solid understanding of Nigerian building regulations and international standards for water-retaining structures. Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation abilities. Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities. Results driven with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously. Willingness to travel extensively within Nigeria.
