Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer to support field activities data collection and technical implementation of water infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will assist in site supervision basic technical tasks and coordination of project activities under the guidance of senior staff.


Key Responsibilities:

Field Support:

  • Assist in site supervision and construction activities.

  • Support installation of pipelines pumps and related infrastructure.

  • Participate in site inspections and data collection.


Technical Assistance:

  • Support engineers and senior officers in project execution.

  • Assist in preparation of basic drawings and documentation.


Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Record site activities and prepare daily/weekly reports.

  • Track materials and equipment usage.


Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow safety procedures and site regulations.

  • Support implementation of HSE standards.



Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • OND/HND/BSc in Engineering or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 24 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in construction or water projects is an advantage.


Technical Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and tools.

  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

  • Ability to work in field environments.


Personal Attributes:

  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.


Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate to project locations in Niger State or Plateau State as required.




Required Skills:

Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience: BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil/structural engineering and project management. Proven track record managing reinforced concrete reservoir or water-retaining structure projects. Mandatory experience handling donor-funded NGO-sponsored or government infrastructure projects. Professional Certification (Compulsory): Registered with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) Mandatory. Active member of NSE (Nigerian Society of Engineers) Mandatory. PMP PRINCE2 or other project management certification is an added advantage. Technical Competencies: Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and construction. Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project Primavera). Familiarity with structural design software (ETABS SAFE AutoCAD). Solid understanding of Nigerian building regulations and international standards for water-retaining structures. Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation abilities. Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities. Results driven with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously. Willingness to travel extensively within Nigeria.
