We are currently recruiting for on of our entities Applied Welding Technology (AWT). This function oversees production activities i.e. drive productivity effective coordination cost control support for both EHS and quality objectives. Furthermore this role is critical in ensuring that there is alignment between production and other departments including management always.
Duties and responsibilities
Production planning scheduling and distribution work
Managing production workflow
Prioritization of jobs
Assessment of project and resource requirements
Completion of jobs within agreed schedule and budget
Proper functioning of production departments
Factory production process improvements
Manage overall production equipment effectiveness
Functional reporting
Working conditions
Primarily based at the factory in Kempton Park
Physical requirements
Annual medical checkup to confirm that employee is medically fit to perform his duties in full.

Qualifications
Education
Grade 12 (Matric) (mandatory) mandatory
Diploma or degree (e.g. Production management mechanical engineering industrial engineering or similar) (NQF L6) or higher (mandatory)
Welding related qualifications advantageous but not mandatory
Machining qualifications advantageous but not mandatory
Management qualifications advantageous but not mandatory
Specialised Knowledge
Understanding of metal fabrication processes fundamentals and tools - mandatory
Understanding of lean manufacturing - mandatory
Computer literacy (Ms office package) - mandatory
Skills
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Leadership skills mandatory
Good problem-solving skills
Must be able to work under fast paced environment
Experience
10-15 years of experienced in a faced paced metal fabrication factory (or relatable) environment mandatory
Experience in managing people (direct reports) - mandatory
