Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a VIP payroll supervisor for a two-month contract based at the client in Rivonia.
Payroll Processing :
- Manage and process monthly/bi-weekly payroll for employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all employee data such as salaries bonuses and deductions is updated in the payroll system.
- Process overtime commissions shift allowances and any other payroll-related adjustments.
- Calculate and verify deductions for statutory contributions (e.g. UIF pension fund medical aid).
- Prepare and process payroll reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
- Basic BCEA knowledge.
- Medical aid fringe benefit.
- Access control.
- Ensure full compliance with all SARS regulations including tax submissions filings and payment of taxes.
- Prepare and submit monthly EMP201 returns and annual IRP5/IT3 submissions.
- Reconcile payroll tax and submit PAYE UIF and SDL payments to SARS.
- Handle SARS correspondence including audits disputes and queries regarding payroll tax matters.
- Ensure that all tax liabilities are up to date and accurate tax certificates are issued to employees.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare accurate and timely payroll reports including tax calculations payment schedules and employee compensation statements.
- Maintain and update employee records including tax forms and other payroll-related documents.
- Assist with statutory reporting annual financial reports and internal audits.
Payroll System Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
- Troubleshoot any payroll-related issues and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance HR or a related field.
- Payroll-related certifications (SAGE Premier)
- Minimum of 10 years of payroll experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in SARS compliance particularly with EMP201 IRP5/IT3 and PAYE submission.
- Knowledge of South African labor law and tax regulations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
- Strong understanding of payroll tax law and regulations.
Personal Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to deal with employees at all levels.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
